Greece Vacation Travel Video Guide • Great Destinations

Greece is the cradle of European civilization, a quarry of mythology and ancient relics. In the Chalkidiki Peninsula we can visit the city of Thessaloniki, the beaches of Katerini and Paralia, and from the boat we can take a look at the mystical republic of the monastery, Athos. Near the legendary Mount Olympus we can take a look at the "rocks of the gods", the Meteora monasteries built on the high cliffs. The famous building of Athens is the Acropolis, which is adorned by the golden pillars of the Parthenon. The Agora was the market of ancient Athens, while the Plaka is a flowing, bustling Eastern bazaar. From the capital visitors can travel to the Corinth Canal and the beaches of the Attic Riviera. From the pier of Piraeus it is easy to take a boat and visit the islands of the Aegean and Ionian Sea. The islands speak of Romans, Byzantines, pirates and knights. Between the olive and orange gardens there are white houses, temples and sunny ruins. The sea is blue in the bays surrounded by beaches and on the terrace of a tavern the flavors of Greek cuisine are always welcome.

  1. Note to the authors: Structures such as the Parthenon were NOT churches – they were Temples!!
