Hidden Gems of Rome: Trastevere in a Day

  1. We had the pleasure of discovering Trastevere last spring.  We will be back next spring to really get to know it!  Great video thank you.

  2. how can you not mention Bar San Callisto!? the heart of Trastevere? Osteria Der belli!? best fish at best price in Trastevere…….

  3. Trastevere is definitely one of my favorite neighborhoods of Rome. I've been to a large number of them, so that's saying a lot. But the fact that there's so much to do there (not as many touristy things as in the city center), but there's still enough to see and do without getting tired. I was there March 2016 with a group from my university and some of us went to a bar (alcohol served) at around 7pm and had a few shots before going to eat dinner with our group in Trastevere. The bar was absolutely amazing. The bartenders were so nice and all of them spoke perfect English. One of them was Portuguese, which was amazing since I'm half and we connected on that. 🙂 I'll hopefully make my way back to that bar the next time I'm there…if I can remember where it was (all I remember is that it's not far from the basilica).

  5. In May, we wandered into Trastevere, having no idea what it was. There are expensive restaurants right next to cheap restaurants. We paid about €8 for a pizza (not a slice), €12 for sea bass, and €2 for a small jug (0.25lt) of wine. Delicious.

  6. Fantastic video, my wife and I are planning to visit Italy in late June/early July 2018 and will seriously look at Trastevere for accomodation (Airbnb). Subscribed !

  7. Your series is exceptional. Watching this makes me nostalgic, as I lived across the river on the Largo dei Chiavari. My college classmates and I often walked to Trastevere to see movies in English.

  8. The videos are great and fun. If you are visiting Rome and want to see the Colosseum or Vatican you would crazy to not book with the Roma Guy.

  9. Wonderfully filmed.and really captures the atmosphere of the place. The original inhabitants were probably the Etruscans, but the demise of Ostia Antica gave Trastevere it's moment in history, a real melting pot.

  10. Le Mani In Pasta looks lovely, but look at the prices- I can't and won't eat a bowl of pasta for over 30 euros. Restaurants in Italian cities are absurdly expensive- I have to live on the cheapest food going. I wish I could afford restaurants like this.

  11. Visited Trastevere last week whilst in Rome. One of the locals recommended it for drinking and eating, I wasn't disappointed! The nicest restaurants and the cheapest drinks in Rome, the streets are gorgeous!
